Hi, my name Is John Gettis and I am the Owner/ Operator of Johnny 5 Custom Millwork. I have been in the cabinet making trade ever since 2004. I was drawn into the trade because both my dad and grandpa shared a keen interest in wood working. When you hire Johnny 5 Custom Millwork it is a special process in the fact that I am the person who meets you to discuss selections and different options, and I will be the installer installing the job. There are not a bunch of hands that the job has to filter through. There is no Big overhead nor is there any secret of who is going to show up at your door. Many of my clients have become good friends as I like to build a relationship with my client in getting to know what they are looking for. No customer is ever put to the side until they are completely satisfied.
We are a family run company, and we strive For every customer to receive the highest standard of service from start to finish. At Johnny 5 Custom Millwork we do not aim to be the biggest company but we do strive to be the best.
I went through the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) in grade twelve. I received the RAP scholarship to put towards my technical training at NAIT. In February of 2008 I received my ticket as a Red Seal Journeyman Cabinetmaker. From Cabinetmaking I branched out into the specialty of Stairs and handrails. I love the challenge that this brings everyday and I love working with solid wood. Every piece of wood is so unique and it brings me joy to share my passion with other people as I get to bring it into thier home.
